Systems Engineering Manager (Semiconductor)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; up to 25% global travel required

What you will do

• Own system performance, stability, customer success, inspection sensitivity, image quality, throughput, and repeatability for the Taiwan 8xx installed base.
• Coach and develop the local systems engineering team through technical training, reviews, priority setting, and succession planning.
• Lead complex troubleshooting across electron optics, detectors, stages, vacuum, electronics, software, algorithms, calibration, and image-processing pipelines.
• Establish escalation processes for severe customer issues, including containment, root-cause analysis, recovery planning, executive communication, and corrective actions.
• Translate customer and fab requirements into system requirements, acceptance criteria, priorities, and product-improvement proposals.
• Drive qualification, acceptance, and high-volume manufacturing readiness across multiple customer-site systems while coordinating with Taiwan and U.S. teams.

Requirements

• Doctorate with 4 years, master's degree with 6 years, or bachelor's degree with 9 years of related experience.
• Experience managing people or providing technical leadership, including coaching engineers and leading high-pressure escalations.
• Significant experience with complex semiconductor capital equipment in customer fabs or similarly demanding production environments.
• Experience with system integration and root-cause analysis across hardware, software, algorithms, and process interactions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams across geographic and organizational boundaries and drive issues to closure.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese, including technical discussions and written communication in English.
