Backend Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate critical services for deposits, withdrawals, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Ensure end-to-end correctness and reliability of financial systems where uptime is non-negotiable.
• Develop and maintain integrations with banks, payment gateways, and asset managers.
• Manage complex scenarios including timeouts, partial failures, and retries.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to expand services into new markets like Saudi Arabia.
• Maintain high operational discipline through strong observability, testing, and safe failure patterns.

Requirements

• Strong track record of shipping and operating reliable backend systems in production.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and maintaining correctness under load.
• Experience owning systems end-to-end, including design, production, and on-call responsibilities.
• Proficiency or ability to quickly learn the stack: Python, C#, .NET Core, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, RabbitMQ, and Redis.
• High bar for operational discipline and debugging complex financial data issues.
• Clear communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
