TL;DR
Engineering Director (AI) (PHP/Laravel/Symfony, Python, Node, Go, Vue): Leading shared services and platform engineering teams that build capabilities for websites, billing, payments, platform, and internal tools with an accent on engineering leadership, production ownership, and AI-assisted development. Focus on scaling Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, resolving underperforming team and platform problems, and improving observability, incident response, outcome measurement, and cross-functional delivery.
Location: Hybrid, with offices in Vilnius and Kaunas, Lithuania; work is also permitted from home or anywhere in the world.
Salary: Starting from €9,000 gross/month, depending on experience and skills.

What you will do
- Own the Shared Services and Platform area, covering Websites, Billing, Payments, Platform, and Internal Tools.
- Hire, coach, mentor, and develop Engineering Managers and Tech Leads.
- Take direct ownership of underperforming teams and unresolved engineering problems.
- Build a “you build it, you own it” culture covering production ownership, observability, incident response, and postmortems.
- Partner with product leaders, engineering leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize the right problems.
- Champion AI-assisted engineering and improve outcome and impact measurement for platform and internal-facing teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Experience building and owning products and services in production over the long term.
- Comfort with PHP, Laravel, Symfony, Python, Node.js, Go, and/or Vue.js, with the ability to work across different stacks.
- Active enthusiasm for AI-assisted engineering and leading adoption across teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, direct feedback, and independent decision-making skills.
- Excellent English communication skills required.

- Experience scaling a smaller company or startup.
- Background in digital or consumer-facing B2C product companies.
