Senior Software Engineer (AI/ML, Physical AI): Building scalable software, indoor positioning systems, and spatial data infrastructure for physical retail with an accent on real-time sensor telemetry, edge computing, large-scale data pipelines, and AI/ML integration. Focus on leading data engineering, delivering features and models, designing reliable software, and improving platform performance through CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring.
Location: J Street Office Space, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States; onsite role
Salary: $90,000–$180,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do
- Lead data engineering efforts for platform analytics.
- Own feature and model delivery across implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software across multiple languages and platforms.
- Integrate AI and machine learning components, including generative AI tools, into software development.
- Drive CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, code reviews, and application performance improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and success metrics while mentoring engineering peers.
Requirements
- 3 years of software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Proven experience leading data engineering development and delivering scoped features or models through collaborative teams.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, debugging, and code review.
- Experience integrating AI/ML components and using generative AI tools.
- Strong technical communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
