Data Scientist - Ads Marketplace

Location: US Remote

Salary: $153,000–$208,000 annualized for the San Francisco area; the range varies by geographic location.

What you will do

• Design algorithms and machine learning models to optimize Ads Marketplace performance and advertiser value.
• Shape ranking models, objective functions, and explainability layers for model feedback loops.
• Design, monitor, and evaluate product experiments, including post-release follow-ups.
• Develop strategic insights through complex data analyses, causal inference studies, and auction measurement.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Design, and Operations.
• Participate in in-person trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team-building activities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant Data Science experience.
• Experience with Ads Marketplace and/or monetization.
• Experience architecting, debugging, and executing complex SQL queries.
• Strong Python skills, including NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and other data science tools.
• Experience with complex analyses, experimentation, causal inference, and exploratory research.
• Curiosity about applying AI and emerging technologies to improve products and business strategy.

Nice to have

• Experience with social, community-based, small-business, or marketplace products.
• Experience with advertising and auction systems.
• Experience with agentic coding platforms such as Cursor or Windsurf.
