Senior Director, Clinical Scientist - Neurodegeneration

Location: Hybrid at the New Haven, Connecticut headquarters or remote from within the United States. Standard business-hours availability is required, and approximately 20% domestic and international travel may be necessary.

What you will do

• Lead clinical-science strategy for neurodegenerative development programs focused initially on Parkinson’s disease and progressive supranuclear palsy.
• Partner with clinical research physicians and cross-functional teams to design and execute global Phase 1–3 studies, especially early-phase and proof-of-concept trials.
• Translate safety, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, biomarker, imaging, and clinical data into dose, study-design, and program decisions.
• Lead clinical protocol development and contribute to investigator brochures, clinical study reports, regulatory documents, publications, and presentations.
• Oversee clinical data review, medical monitoring plans, endpoint quality, rater qualification, and interpretation of benefit-risk information.
• Engage investigators, key opinion leaders, patient advocacy organizations, external partners, and health authorities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology clinical-development experience, including global interventional studies and early-phase leadership.
• Required experience in neurodegenerative disease or movement disorders, with knowledge of Parkinson’s disease, PSP, or related conditions strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, clinical study design, statistics, clinical operations, and global regulatory expectations.
• Experience interpreting longitudinal efficacy endpoints, clinical rating scales, rater variability, disease progression, placebo effects, and missing data.
• Excellent project leadership, communication, organizational, and cross-functional decision-making skills.
• An advanced scientific or clinical degree is required; visa sponsorship is not available, and candidates must be able to work without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Leadership of global early-phase Parkinson’s disease or PSP studies.
• Experience with biomarkers, MRI or fluid biomarkers, digital measures, wearable sensors, CSF sampling, or imaging endpoints.
• Experience with disease-modifying programs involving tau, alpha-synuclein, lysosomal biology, biologics, small molecules, or targeted protein degradation.
• Experience with FDA, EMA, or other health-authority interactions and independent monitoring committees.
