Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer (Big Data)

Location: Must be based in the United States (Remote Eligible, must reside in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity).

Salary: $212,000 – $265,000 USD per year.

• Design and build the next generation big data compute platform to support ETL, analytics, and machine learning.
• Operate and improve the reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency of the infrastructure.
• Write maintainable, self-documenting code and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to open-source software and drive industry-level impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and integrate solutions.

Requirements

• Must have legal work authorization in the United States.
• Must reside in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity.
• 10+ years of experience in data infrastructure with a focus on big data technologies.
• Proficiency in Spark, Presto/Trino, and Kubernetes.
• Strong programming skills in Java or Scala.
• Expertise in designing and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
