Sr Safety/Security Manager (Security Operations)

Location: US - Ashburn, Virginia; at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $134,800–$216,100 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead daily operations of a 24/7 global security operations center covering incident response, threat assessment, crisis support, employee safety, asset protection, and emergency communications.
• Oversee incident intake, alarm monitoring, real-time threat reporting, operational reporting, executive dashboards, and escalation protocols.
• Maintain operational readiness through procedures, training, exercises, response protocols, and support for major events and business travel.
• Own key security technology platforms and improve workflows, automation, reporting, user experience, and operational performance.
• Manage vendors, contract security providers, staffing quality, operator performance, onboarding, training compliance, and corrective actions.
• Brief senior leaders and collaborate with regional security teams, site leaders, business partners, peer organizations, and vendors.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree, or 2+ years with a PhD.
• Experience leading or managing a security operations center, emergency communications center, global monitoring function, protective intelligence function, corporate security program, or similar 24/7 operational environment.
• Experience with incident response, alarm monitoring, emergency communications, crisis support, employee safety, travel security, major event monitoring, and global risk reporting.
• Experience managing operators, contract personnel, vendors, platforms, systems, procedures, quality assurance programs, training, metrics, and escalation protocols.
• Familiarity with incident management, mass notification, traveler safety, open-source monitoring, case management, access control, video management, alarm monitoring, and reporting platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assess fast-moving security issues and communicate clearly with operators, stakeholders, and leaders.

• 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 7+ years with an advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
• Experience benchmarking industry best practices and maintaining relationships with peer organizations and vendors.
