Automotive Technician

Location: Opelika, United States; onsite automotive service role.

Pay range: $15.75–$23.67 per hour, using a performance-based flat-rate compensation model.

Bridgestone Retail Operations operates company-owned automotive service stores across North America under brands including Firestone Complete Auto Care, Tires Plus, and Wheel Works.

What you will do

• Change oil and perform scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Inspect steering, suspension, brake, tire, and other vehicle systems.
• Install batteries and parts, check electrical systems, and perform tire maintenance.
• Road-test vehicles and assist with repair procedures.
• Explain repair procedures to customers and respond to service questions.
• Obtain or maintain at least one A.S.E. certification from A1–A8 within the first two years.

Requirements

• Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks and perform automotive maintenance.
• Basic understanding of oil changes, vehicle inspections, and tire repair.
• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify employment.

Nice to have

• Two years of automotive repair experience.
• Completion of a related vocational-technical program or demonstrated skills through third-party assessments.
• A.S.E. certification or equivalent training credentials.
