Senior Software Developer (Web) (Remote) (XR)

Location: Remote from Ontario, Canada

Salary: $107,000–$157,300 annual base salary for Canada-based roles

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain frontend applications using JavaScript, React, and TypeScript alongside Golang and AWS backend services.
• Build and optimize high-performance web components for immersive XR headset experiences.
• Lead complex, cross-team projects by defining scope, planning execution, and delivering milestones.
• Collaborate with architects, UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into product features.
• Shape scalable system architecture across cloud, web, immersive, and 2D environments.
• Lead technical discussions, document solutions, and anticipate emerging development needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software design and development experience, with a focus on frontend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with complex, performance-sensitive JavaScript web applications, React, TypeScript, browser profiling, rendering bottlenecks, DOM limitations, and JavaScript engines.
• Experience with CPU-constrained applications, WebSockets, Microsoft Fluid, JSON, Protobuf, Electron, AWS services such as S3, Git, and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, browser event loops, and rendering pipelines.
• Experience working in agile environments and collaborating across engineering teams and stakeholders, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ThreeJS, WebXR, AR, VR, MR, or game engines such as Unreal Engine.
• Full-stack experience and AWS cloud-native architecture expertise.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Docker, CI/CD, Terraform, and observability tools.
