Director of AI Automation (AI)

Location: Remote within the continental United States; U.S. citizenship is required. Government/Public Trust clearance eligibility, fingerprinting, and a background check are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Define and lead enterprise test automation and quality engineering strategies across multiple products, platforms, and delivery teams.
• Establish testing standards, governance frameworks, quality metrics, dashboards, quality indicators, and executive reporting.
• Oversee scalable test automation for web, API, middleware, data, cloud, and AI-enabled applications.
• Integrate automated testing, quality gates, and AI evaluation capabilities into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Lead functional, integration, performance, accessibility, security, and regression testing initiatives, including Section 508 compliance.
• Lead and mentor QA managers, test leads, automation engineers, and distributed quality engineering teams while managing resources across programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in software quality assurance, quality engineering, test automation, and software delivery, including 7+ years leading enterprise QA or quality engineering teams.
• Experience defining enterprise quality strategies, governance models, testing standards, KPIs, release-readiness metrics, and risk-based reporting.
• Experience with cloud-native, web, API, middleware, data, and AI-enabled platforms, as well as CI/CD and DevSecOps environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Python automation, with expertise in tools such as Selenium, Playwright, TestNG, Postman, REST Assured, ReadyAPI/SoapUI, and Groovy.
• U.S. citizenship, successful completion of a background check, and ability to obtain and maintain Government/Public Trust clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or certifications such as ISTQB Advanced/Test Manager, CSQE, AWS, SAFe Agilist, or PMP.
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, CloudWatch, and Step Functions.
• Knowledge of AI testing, model validation, automated evaluation frameworks, and AI quality metrics.
• Experience with accessibility testing, Section 508, JAWS, and ANDI.
• Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other health-related organizations.
