TL;DR
Staff Controls Engineer (PLC/Control Systems): Designing, validating, and integrating control systems for new and legacy power products with an accent on PLC programming, control tuning, simulation, and electrical system integration. Focus on developing advanced control algorithms, performing stability and performance analysis, creating high-fidelity system simulations, and executing HIL/SIL and system validation.

What you will do
- Design, validate, and bring new products to market while improving legacy systems.
- Define functional requirements and design, test, integrate, and evaluate complex components for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
- Develop control designs, tune systems, create simulations, and program PLCs for optimal machine operation.
- Create and execute product specifications, fitness-for-use testing, and process validation plans.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Support product development schedules and costs, and mentor less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with new product design and development, control algorithms, PLC programming, and electrical system integration.
- Expertise in closed-loop control tuning, stability analysis, and performance optimization.
- Experience with model-based design, high-fidelity simulations, automated design verification, and production-ready code generation.
- Experience developing and executing HIL/SIL, bench, system, and fault-injection testing, plus strong technical communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with machine design and SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
- Participation in technical communities related to industry standards or regulations.
- Experience with MS Excel and MS Word.
