Technical Designer, Accessories

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year, plus benefits, a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts.

What you will do

• Partner with designers to create accurate technical specifications from concept through production.
• Review samples and provide corrections covering aesthetics, dimensions, hand feel, functionality, construction, and workmanship.
• Update technical sketches, CADs, colorways, color blocking, and material placements.
• Develop full-scale layouts for artwork placement, engineered embellishments, patchwork, construction details, and proportions.
• Execute final product specification updates and capture post-market corrections.
• Maintain consistency across specifications, factories, and seasons while researching construction and functionality trends.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as an accessories technical designer.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and the ability to create CADs efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of handbag and accessories construction.
• Exceptional attention to detail, note-taking, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and email communication skills.
