Tech Lead (AI)

Location: London office, two days per week

hirify.global provides an FCA-regulated anti-fraud platform for regulated businesses, including lawyers, estate agents, and accountants. The platform supports document verification, facial recognition, open banking, and secure fund transfers.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across a product team and guide architectural and design decisions.
• Design, build, and deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable features and systems.
• Own technical outcomes from discovery and design through delivery and long-term operation.
• Lead AI-assisted software engineering practices and identify opportunities to automate repetitive work.
• Partner with Product, Design, and business stakeholders to manage trade-offs and deliver technical outcomes.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews and incident investigations, and improve engineering standards.

Requirements

• Significant experience building and operating production software in a modern engineering environment.
• Experience leading technical design and delivery for complex systems or domains.
• Working knowledge across backend and frontend systems, including Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
• Strong understanding of APIs, data modelling, testing strategies, and system design.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and demonstrating their impact on development workflows.
• Ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex technical ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a fast-moving, regulated environment where quality and trust are critical.
• Experience with React, React Native, Temporal, PostgreSQL, or GCP.
