Cybersecurity Engineer (Defense Tech)

Location: Hybrid in Kyiv or Lviv, Ukraine. Flexible remote work may be available where possible.

What you will do

• Build, operate, and continuously improve SIEM/SOAR capabilities, including log onboarding, detection rules, alert tuning, dashboards, and automated response workflows.
• Monitor security events, investigate incidents, contain threats, and document timelines, root causes, and lessons learned.
• Deploy and manage EDR/NGAV and MDM across Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints and servers, including hardening and compliance baselines.
• Implement identity and Zero Trust controls such as SSO, MFA, conditional access, ZTNA, device posture checks, RBAC, least privilege, and privileged access management.
• Manage vulnerabilities, cloud and SaaS security posture, third-party integrations, and infrastructure security reviews.
• Document security controls, runbooks, and hardening guides while supporting internal and external audits.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on cybersecurity or IT infrastructure engineering experience, with a clear security specialization.
• Practical experience with SIEM/SOAR, EDR/NGAV, endpoint management, detection engineering, investigation, and security automation.
• Experience with identity and Zero Trust technologies, including SSO, MFA, conditional access, device posture, and ZTNA.
• Solid networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and network security controls.
• Working knowledge of attack techniques and security frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• English proficiency is required for documentation, vendors, and external partners.

Nice to have

• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or SOAR playbooks.
• Experience with vulnerability management platforms and cloud or SaaS security controls such as CSPM or SSPM.
• Relevant security certifications or experience in enterprise and critical-infrastructure environments.
