Engineering Manager (AI Observability)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; on-site

Annual salary: $200,000–$240,000

What you will do

• Lead the engineering team building LangSmith, an observability and evaluation platform for LLM applications.
• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team while strengthening engineering culture.
• Define the long-term technical direction, scalability, and reliability of the AI observability platform.
• Partner with product and design to define scope, sequencing, and success criteria for key initiatives.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in Go, Python, and TypeScript.
• Engage directly with customers and translate their needs into product improvements.

Requirements

• Experience managing or tech-leading teams delivering complex full-stack products.
• Strong technical background in Go, Python, React, and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of Postgres, Redis, and ClickHouse.
• Experience designing high-throughput, data-intensive systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and customers.
• Bias toward shipping quickly and learning from customers.
