Metrology Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Livermore, California, United States. Regular day shift.

Salary: $75,400–$99,015 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy AI-based algorithms and automated workflows for defect detection and classification in MEMS probe manufacturing.
• Collaborate with process engineering, metrology, automation, and operations teams to identify improvement opportunities and align AI-driven solutions.
• Guide technicians and operations personnel through new processes, tools, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Support process qualifications, engineering builds, and validation activities related to AI and automation.
• Analyze defect trends, tool performance, and AI model accuracy to reduce defectivity and improve First Pass Yield.
• Create real-time process feedback systems, documentation, training materials, and controlled model and script assets.

Requirements

• Degree or background aligned with metrology engineering and data metrics.
• Python programming skills.
• Ability to work with AI-based defect review, automation, and manufacturing process data.
• No previous professional experience is required.
• Onsite work in Livermore, California, United States is required.
