AI/Machine Learning Engineer (Rust)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global Center in Maplewood, Minnesota, United States; travel may be required up to 5%.

Salary: $124,127–$151,710 annual compensation range for US applicants.

What you will do

• Convert Python research and development modules into readable, tested, maintainable, and performant Rust components.
• Build unit, integration, regression, simulation, behavioral-equivalence, determinism, and reproducibility tests.
• Implement stable interfaces and runtime components within a modular architecture protecting proprietary intellectual property.
• Profile CPU usage, memory, latency, and throughput while improving performance and scalability with senior developers.
• Support concurrency, parallel execution, Python/Rust interoperability, containerization, CI/CD, observability, and deployment automation.
• Develop components for real-time inference, near-real-time reasoning, offline simulations, cloud services, on-premises systems, and embedded or edge environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics, cognitive science, computational neuroscience, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma/GED with five or more years of relevant experience.
• Five years of programming experience in Python and either C++, Rust, or another systems programming language.
• Three years of core software-engineering experience, including version control, code review, debugging, automated testing, and technical documentation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Must work onsite at hirify.global Center in Maplewood, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Rust experience or demonstrated ability to learn Rust quickly.
• Experience converting prototypes, research code, simulations, or mathematical algorithms into robust software.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, operating systems, concurrency, parallel computing, compilers, graph algorithms, or high-performance computing.
• Exposure to symbolic AI, neural-symbolic systems, causal reasoning, reinforcement learning, constraint solving, or simulation systems.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, cloud providers, databases, graph stores, messaging systems, profiling, benchmarking, or reproducible experiments.
