TL;DR
Specialist, Data Verification and Analysis (Automotive): Analyzing electronic vehicle commissioning, software validation, diagnostics data, and production metrics with an accent on CAN logs, sensor data, ECU traces, and manufacturing quality. Focus on identifying root causes, developing guided fault-finding solutions, building validation dashboards, and creating scalable systems for storing and querying test data.

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus

What you will do

  • Support software, functions, and diagnostic testing on the production shop floor during vehicle commissioning.
  • Analyze commissioning, functional, and diagnostic errors using CAN logs, sensor data, ECU traces, and other validation data.
  • Develop guided fault-finding steps and communicate findings with validation engineers and after-sales diagnostics teams.
  • Track defects, identify recurring issues, and recommend immediate and long-term measures to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Create reports, dashboards, evaluations, and key figures to monitor system health and regressions.
  • Support scalable validation-data storage, querying, retrieval, process optimization, and installation and troubleshooting of data recorders.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience; automotive experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes, preferably in automotive production.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, or similar, and experience processing CAN, LIN, or Ethernet data with tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, or Vector.
  • Experience in data analysis and data mining, with strong analytical, conceptual, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics; HIL testing and test automation experience is preferred.
