2027 Spring Intern - MAGNet Program (Data Science)

Location: Hybrid in Athens, Georgia, United States; several days per week in the Downtown Athens office. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Pay: $36 per hour; 20 hours per week during the Spring and Fall semesters and 38.75 hours per week during the Summer semester. Internship dates: January 11, 2027–April 27, 2027.

What you will do

• Apply predictive modeling and data analysis to insurance, marketing, claims, and process-optimization problems.
• Develop pricing and underwriting risk models.
• Build predictive models for claims automation and sales or growth forecasting.
• Use data mining for claims and competitive analysis.
• Evaluate statistical methods and tools for potential use by hirify.global data scientists.
• Communicate and present technical work.

Requirements

• Must be accepted or currently enrolled in an in-person graduate program at the University of Georgia.
• Study in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as statistics, data science, mathematics, computer science, economics, or actuarial science.
• Have 3–6 semesters remaining in the graduate program, with expected graduation between December 2027 and December 2028.
• Experience with statistical modeling or data mining, data analysis and database tools, and programming in Python, SAS, or R.
• Must be available for a hybrid schedule and work from the Athens office weekly.
• Must already be eligible to work lawfully in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
