Adaptation Editor (Fr to En)

Location: Brussels, Belgium; based in the Brussels newsroom. Working hours are approximately 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. CET.

What you will do

• Adapt detailed French-language journalistic content into English for the target audience.
• Edit content independently while preserving accuracy, clarity, precision, and editorial impact.
• Apply rigorous journalistic standards to all adaptations.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to maintain consistent and accurate coverage.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of editing experience and a journalistic background.
• C2 French and native-level English, with the ability to understand content deeply and adapt it journalistically between languages.
• Strong attention to detail, precision, professionalism, and consistency.
• Knowledge of the basics of European institutions and political life, with an interest in deepening that knowledge.
• Ability to work approximately 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. CET from the Brussels newsroom.
