Software Engineer 3 (Potential Telework)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States; on-site with limited telework potentially available once fully up to speed, as tasking permits.

United States citizenship and a position-appropriate security clearance are required. The role requires current PRIVAC eligibility within the past seven years and/or the minimum PRIVAC level required for the position, including an agency-appropriate polygraph.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack software supporting cyber-threat intelligence analysis.
• Develop and integrate user-interface, application-service, and data-layer components.
• Enhance existing applications while maintaining software quality, security, performance, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex software and integration issues across the application stack.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, release activities, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to refine requirements and deploy supportable capabilities.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph is required.
• United States citizenship is required.
• Twenty years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; four additional years of relevant software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Professional experience with Java, JavaScript, Node.js or comparable server-side JavaScript frameworks, and Vue.js, Vuetify, or a comparable front-end framework.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, RESTful services and APIs, Git, software troubleshooting, and collaborative engineering work.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, malware analysis, or another mission-focused analytical domain.
• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot, automated testing, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, secure software development, and Linux.
• Experience with data integration, data normalization, information correlation, Agile delivery, cloud development, or direct engagement with end users.
