Electrical Engineer Co-Op

Location: San Luis Obispo, California, United States. Full-time, 6-month co-op assignment from January through June, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Salary: $20-$30 per hour, depending on overall skills and qualifications.

What you will do

• Update electrical drawings using SolidWorks Electrical and DraftSight.
• Support prototype, new product introduction, and production build activities.
• Assist Manufacturing Operations with troubleshooting, design clarifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in electrical design reviews and validation activities.
• Standardize control panels, schematics, and electrical designs across product lines.
• Contribute to projects focused on design efficiency, quality, and process improvement.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in electrical engineering, mechatronic engineering, mechanical engineering, general engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Available to work 40 hours per week from January through June and familiar with university co-op participation requirements.
