TL;DR
Automation Architect (RPA/AI): Designing, developing, and deploying intelligent RPA automations across financial services and business operations with an accent on workflow orchestration, Microsoft Power Platform, system integration, and solution architecture. Focus on optimizing automated processes, troubleshooting production and testing issues, leading code reviews, and coordinating delivery across Service, Operations, and Risk teams.
Location: Bellville, Cape Town, South Africa; hybrid model with 6 days per month in the office

What you will do
- Design, develop, and deploy small- to medium-sized intelligent automation and RPA projects.
- Support, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot automated processes in production.
- Implement approved changes and provide technical assistance to business users.
- Prepare technical development and release documentation, and complete unit, UAT, and volume testing.
- Lead design and code reviews, estimate development work, and communicate project progress.
- Collaborate with Service, Operations, Risk, and other functional teams while mentoring junior developers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, or bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience; data science, computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong solution design skills and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Understanding of intelligent automation, workflow orchestration, AI, RPA, and system integration patterns.
- Proficiency developing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power BI.
- Foundational knowledge of data architecture, reporting, analytics, dashboard design, and project management approaches.
- Experience with Agile delivery, prioritization, iterative solution development, and cross-functional communication.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SS&C Blue Prism or Work HQ automation solutions.
- Knowledge of recordkeeping operations and operating environments.
