Principle Software Engineer (Identity and Access Management)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise-scale identity and access management platforms.
• Act as the technical authority for authentication, authorization, federation, and identity lifecycle management.
• Design and operate secure, scalable, resilient identity services for customer-facing SaaS applications and multiple engineering teams.
• Provide architectural guidance across engineering, product, security, and operations initiatives.
• Drive engineering excellence through design and code reviews, mentoring, standards, observability, maintainability, and performance improvements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, influence long-term technology strategy, and promote responsible AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including architecture and technical leadership.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and operating IAM and CIAM solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Auth0, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Ping Identity, or similar identity platforms.
• Expert knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA, federation, token-based security, and modern authentication patterns.
• Experience building distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native applications, with a strong understanding of software architecture and security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity platform migrations, consolidations, or modernization.
• Experience designing Zero Trust, SSO, and enterprise federation architectures.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and highly regulated or security-focused environments.
• Experience with security, privacy, compliance, or audit requirements for enterprise software.
• Experience evaluating or promoting AI-enabled development tools and workflows.
