Software Engineer (AI Tooling & Enablement)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, with a hybrid working model

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, ship, and maintain shared AI harness and platform features, including plugins, skills, MCP integrations, internal AI-enabled CLIs, and scaffolding.
• Improve the engineering experience across the software development lifecycle through better tooling, test coverage, and maintainable code and data structures.
• Build agent tooling with tool use, scoped permissions, error handling, automated verification, and behavioural instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot complex AI tooling issues across platform and product systems.
• Work with Git-based version control and CI/CD, including safe rollbacks and forward changes.
• Contribute to AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure using Terraform and validate AI outputs before adoption.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional software development experience with clean, tested, maintainable code.
• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or other modern programming languages.
• Experience building and integrating APIs and creating tooling that is easy for engineers to use.
• Experience with AWS or a comparable cloud environment and its core services.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git-style version control, and automated unit, integration, or end-to-end testing.
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools and agentic integrations such as MCP servers, agent skills, LLM workflows, or prompt engineering.
