Part-Time Transcriber (ASR)

What you will do

• Generate and review speech transcriptions using internal ASR and transcription tools.
• Classify utterances, speaker turns, dialogue contexts, and large-scale speech datasets.
• Identify and annotate wake words with precise onset and offset timestamps.
• Mark word and phrase boundaries for end-point detection systems.
• Apply annotation guidelines, perform quality checks, and flag ambiguities.
• Collaborate with speech data scientists, linguists, and engineers to improve transcription and labeling processes.

Requirements

• Native, bilingual, or multilingual proficiency in North American English, Latin American Spanish, or Canadian French.
• Comfort transcribing native and foreign-accented speech across a wide range of accents.
• Ability to transcribe points of interest, geographic references, street names, landmarks, directions, and navigation terminology.
• Comfort working with computers and transcription software.
• Bachelor’s degree or current undergraduate study in linguistics, speech and hearing sciences, communication sciences, language studies, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with personal names from diverse languages and cultures, especially those common in North American immigrant communities.
• Experience transcribing naturalistic speech such as call-center audio, voice-assistant recordings, or field recordings.
• Experience with speech data annotation, labeling, or transcription for ASR systems.
