Product Psychologist (AI)

What you will do

• Define what makes Ash conversations high quality and turn that definition into measurable standards.
• Make hypothesis-driven decisions about Ash's behavior across general and situation-specific conversations.
• Partner with the Safety team to define behavioral constraints and responses to difficult edge cases.
• Recruit, scale, and coach a distributed team of expert human reviewers, including setting standards and maintaining calibration.
• Partner with the conversation and machine-learning teams to provide clarity where product decisions are ambiguous.

Requirements

• PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, a related field, or a license-eligible master's degree with clinical training and supervision.
• Experienced clinician with experience working with systems and technology to scale engaging and effective health products.
• Deep practical experience with interpersonal skills, including recognizing flexibility, warmth, honesty, confidence, and attunement in conversations.
• Pragmatic and decisive when working with incomplete information, with the ability to revise decisions as evidence changes.
• Experience with measurement, ideally in digital mental health, including building rating systems and calibrating raters.
• Comfort working closely with machine-learning teams and understanding how benchmarks and evaluations influence model behavior.
