Location: Auckland City Campus, Auckland, New Zealand

Salary: NZ$93,201–NZ$107,500 per annum, depending on skills and experience

What you will do

  • Manage and triage referrals and concerns from students and staff.
  • Gather information, assess risk, and develop appropriate support plans and referral pathways.
  • Connect students with self-help resources and specialist internal or external services.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and confidential records.
  • Build relationships with university teams and community support providers.
  • Identify trends, barriers, and service improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in mental health, social work, nursing, occupational therapy, or a related field.
  • Valid Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act registration, such as NCNZ or Social Worker Registration, is required.
  • At least four years of experience providing mental health support to students or young people.
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting students and young people, including the ability to handle sensitive matters.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Cultural competence and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for professional practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a tertiary environment and understanding of student needs.
