Staff Software Engineer – Genie One Mobile & Desktop (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, or San Francisco, California

Salary: $190,000–$261,250 USD per year for Zone 1, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for Genie One across web, native mobile, and desktop platforms.
• Lead customer-facing experiences for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, including notifications, background activity, multi-window workflows, deep links, and local-file interactions.
• Define the long-term product and engineering strategy for Genie One Mobile & Desktop.
• Build reusable cross-surface primitives, contracts, and shared product capabilities.
• Improve boundaries between web views, native shells, platform APIs, shared services, authentication, session management, and client-side state.
• Raise quality and operational excellence through testing, release automation, telemetry, performance, security, mentoring, and hands-on technical leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and a record of shipping and operating customer-facing products at scale.
• Staff-level technical leadership, including setting direction across teams, making architecture decisions, and driving complex projects through adoption.
• Experience spanning web UI, mobile, desktop, or shared frontend platforms.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript experience with modern web frameworks such as React, plus hands-on mobile or desktop development.
• Experience with shared web code, React Native or native modules, desktop shells, webviews, backend APIs, and CI/CD.
• Experience building secure enterprise products involving authentication, session management, permissions, sensitive data, MDM, and MAM.
