Upstream Process Development Associate I/II (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Set up, operate, monitor, and analyze mammalian cell culture and bioreactor processes for mainly CHO cell lines.
• Support shake flask and bioreactor experiments across laboratory and pilot scales, including inoculation, sampling, feeding, and data collection.
• Calculate growth rate, specific productivity, and agitation and gassing scale-up or scale-down parameters.
• Prepare data plots, presentations, technical reports, batch sheets, and data binders in accordance with good documentation practices.
• Maintain project plans, coordinate raw material and equipment availability, and support process transfer to manufacturing.
• Participate in process development teams, coach junior colleagues, and communicate data and project updates to clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 1–3+ years of experience or a master’s degree with 2+ years of experience in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of mammalian cell culture.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting strict client deadlines.
• Ability to work 2–4 weekend days per month and holidays to support cell culture processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with medium development.
• Experience with Design-Expert, JMP, or similar statistical software.
