Founding Security Engineer (AI/ML Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, California, or Singapore. Relocation support is available.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end detection and incident response, including investigation, postmortems, and durable engineering improvements.
• Own the security roadmap across product, cloud and infrastructure, corporate security, incident response, and compliance.
• Secure APIs, platforms, and data systems through threat modeling, design and code reviews, authentication, authorization, and secrets management.
• Build and operate monitoring, detection, and incident-response capabilities.
• Own SOC 2 compliance, including control design, security questionnaires, policies, vendor reviews, and audits.
• Partner with legal, commercial, engineering, and operations to implement controls for data access, provenance, retention, deletion, isolation, and auditability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience across infrastructure, detection and response, and identity.
• Experience leading security incidents from containment through root-cause analysis and follow-up engineering.
• Experience implementing or operating SOC 2 or a comparable security framework and translating requirements into technical controls.
• Experience securing AI/ML infrastructure, agent execution environments, data platforms, or systems handling untrusted or sensitive data.
• Experience designing data protection controls covering access, retention, deletion, isolation, and auditability.
• Strong communication, judgment, and risk-prioritization skills when working with engineering, operations, legal, auditors, and customers.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, AWS Security Specialty, OSWE, CKS, or GIAC.
• Demonstrated expertise through CVEs, security tooling, or bug bounty work.
