Computational Geometry Software Lead

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow the computational geometry software team while setting technical priorities and providing day-to-day direction.
• Partner with manufacturing and mechanical engineers to translate production challenges into software requirements and development priorities.
• Guide software that analyzes, manipulates, and generates complex 3D geometry for composite parts and tooling.
• Develop internal engineering tools that improve the speed, quality, scalability, and automation of manufacturing workflows.
• Shape technical architecture, development practices, product tradeoffs, and the engineering roadmap.
• Recruit engineers and contribute to technical reviews, architecture decisions, and code when needed.

Requirements

• Professional experience in software engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals and experience leading engineers, technical projects, or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
• Experience with computational geometry, CAD/CAM systems, geometric modeling, or software involving 3D part geometry.
• Understanding of how physical parts move from design into production and ability to translate ambiguous manufacturing problems into technical solutions.
• Ability to collaborate across software, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and operations teams.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Programming experience with Rust, C++, Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience with composites, CNC machining, tooling, additive manufacturing, mesh processing, solid modeling, or geometric kernels.
• Experience developing manufacturing automation tools or converting manual engineering workflows into repeatable software-driven processes.
• Startup or small-team experience and experience managing software engineers in a technical environment.
