What you will do

  • Design and implement autonomous behaviors for uncrewed aircraft.
  • Process real sensor data and build robust sensor-fusion solutions.
  • Develop and test autonomy systems in high-fidelity software and hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
  • Integrate hirify.global autonomy products with third-party aircraft and systems.
  • Collaborate with AI, robotics, and systems engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to architecture, code quality, design reviews, best practices, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Aerospace, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Significant professional experience in robotics, autonomy, perception, or aerospace systems.
  • Strong experience with modern C++.
  • Significant experience building and delivering reliable software systems, ideally in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work on-site in Melbourne, Australia.
  • Offers are contingent on a cleared background and may include a reference check.

Nice to have

  • Experience with uncrewed systems, especially airborne systems.
  • Defense industry experience.
  • Experience with state estimation, real-time systems, guidance, navigation and control, or path planning.
