Senior Director, Immunology Early Development Strategy & Innovation (Biotech)

Base compensation: $274,000–$377,000 per year

What you will do

• Advise and act as a delegate for the Head of Immunology Early Development Innovation and Strategy.
• Lead research-to-development transitions, early development planning, and portfolio decisions across immunology programs.
• Serve as a delegated clinical development leader for selected programs and strategic initiatives.
• Evaluate external opportunities, including business development, licensing, partnerships, venture investments, and strategic collaborations.
• Develop evidence-based recommendations for governance and investment decisions.
• Align cross-functional stakeholders and mentor colleagues across a complex matrixed organization.

Requirements

• MD, MD/PhD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant biomedical discipline.
• At least 15 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug development experience with progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Expertise in immunology and immune-mediated diseases, including areas such as rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, allergy, or inflammation.
• Experience with multiple therapeutic modalities and research-to-development transitions through key development milestones.
• Experience evaluating external opportunities and understanding scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial portfolio factors.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, executive communication, judgment, and stakeholder-influence skills.

Nice to have

• Recognized scientific or development leadership demonstrated through publications, presentations, patents, advisory roles, or equivalent accomplishments.
• Experience leading teams through pre-IND or CTA meetings and clinical hold resolution.
