Associate Engineer H&B (Biotechnology)

Location: On-site in Madison, Wisconsin, USA; travel up to 10% may be required.

What you will do

• Support manufacturing operations by identifying and resolving process, safety, quality, and efficiency issues.
• Participate in Process Safety Management activities, hazard analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor process performance, analyze trends, and design experiments to improve reliability, quality, and productivity.
• Support the introduction, scale-up, and industrialization of new products and technologies.
• Contribute to capital investment projects within the Manufacturing Technology team.
• Develop technical documentation and collaborate with hirify.global sites in Rochester and Europe on technology transfer and best-practice sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in bioprocess, biochemical, chemical, mechanical, industrial engineering, or a related discipline.
• Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food, biotechnology, fermentation, or a related industry.
• Understanding of fermentation processes and downstream processing technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining process accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, quality, safety, or continuous improvement principles.

Nice to have

• Experience with scale-up, technology transfer, or product industrialization.
• Familiarity with ISO 22000, Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point, food safety, dietary supplement, quality, or regulatory standards.
• Experience leading cross-functional project teams across multiple sites.
