TL;DR
Infrastructure Automation Engineer (Terraform): Building and standardizing production-grade infrastructure-as-code foundations for cloud and hybrid environments with an accent on reusable Terraform modules, automated delivery pipelines, and policy enforcement. Focus on managing multi-account, multi-region, and multi-cloud infrastructure, hardening security and compliance controls, and migrating legacy environments with minimal disruption.
Location: 100% remote within the Continental United States
Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per annum

What you will do
- Design and maintain modular, composable Terraform code across cloud accounts, environments, and providers.
- Build reusable Terraform modules with clear interfaces, semantic versioning, testing, and documentation.
- Implement infrastructure automation pipelines with plan/apply gating, drift detection, and policy enforcement.
- Manage Terraform state, workspaces, backends, disaster recovery, and multi-account or multi-region provisioning.
- Embed security, networking, identity, secrets-management, and least-privilege IAM guardrails into modules and pipelines.
- Lead migrations from ClickOps and legacy infrastructure, optimize costs, and mentor engineering teams on Terraform practices.
Requirements
- Must be located in the Continental United States and work remotely.
- Five or more years of cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering experience with significant Terraform focus.
- Production experience authoring Terraform and designing reusable modules with clean APIs and version discipline.
- Experience with Terraform state management, CI/CD pipelines, automated policy enforcement, and Git-based workflows.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash, plus knowledge of cloud networking, identity, and security primitives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Nice to have
- Multi-cloud Terraform experience with AWS and Azure or GCP.
- Familiarity with Terragrunt, Atlantis, Spacelift, or env0.
- Experience with Sentinel, OPA, Checkov, public Terraform modules or providers, and FinOps practices.
