Head of People Operations (EMEA)

Location: Based in Finland; scope covers the EMEA region.

What you will do

• Lead HR operations across EMEA, including payroll, benefits, HRIS, vendors, invoices, budgets, and KPI reporting.
• Manage and develop a distributed, multi-country People Operations team, including Team Leads.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
• Lead complex employee relations, investigations, restructuring, performance management, and escalation cases.
• Manage relationships with works councils and employee representative bodies, including in Germany and France.
• Drive global and regional People Operations initiatives, change management, employee engagement, automation, and AI-enabled process improvements.

Requirements

• Significant senior-level People Operations or HR leadership experience across multiple European jurisdictions.
• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple countries and managing through Team Leads.
• Experience with Workday and payroll oversight across multiple countries.
• Strong experience handling sensitive employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with senior leadership, Finance, HRIS, vendors, and works councils.
• Fluency in English is required; the role is based in Finland.

Nice to have

• Experience managing People Operations in Germany and working with German Works Councils (Betriebsrat).
• Strong knowledge of German employment law.
• Familiarity with Polish, UK, French, or other EMEA employment jurisdictions.
• German fluency.
