Automotive Technician (Automotive)

Location: 016365 Oak Park Commons; onsite automotive service role.

Pay range: $16.63–$24.99 per hour through a performance-based flat-rate compensation model.

What you will do

• Change oil and perform scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Inspect steering, suspension, and brake systems.
• Repair and maintain tires, install batteries and parts, and check electrical systems.
• Road test customer and company vehicles.
• Learn automotive repair procedures under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Explain repair procedures to customers and answer service-related questions.

Requirements

• Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks and automotive maintenance procedures.
• Basic understanding of oil changes, vehicle inspections, and tire repair.
• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Nice to have

• Two years of automotive repair experience.
• Completion of a related vocational-technical program.
• A.S.E. certification or equivalent external training and certifications.
