Head of Controlling & Risk - Director (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead the Controlling & Risk department and manage approximately 20 employees across specialised risk areas.
• Define departmental priorities, operating models, resource allocation and team development plans.
• Own and continuously improve the Group risk management framework, including policies, methodologies, risk appetite monitoring, controls and reporting standards.
• Prepare and present risk reports to the Risk Committee, Executive Management and Board of Directors, escalating material risks, incidents and remediation actions.
• Oversee credit, market, liquidity and operational risk across own investments and client activities, including stress testing, limit monitoring, margin analysis and RCSA processes.
• Coordinate reconciliations, consolidated supervision, regulatory relations and risk assessments for new business, automation and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field; FRM, CFA or equivalent qualification is an asset.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in banking, financial services, risk management or a related field, preferably in a regulated international financial institution.
• Experience managing multiple risk disciplines and multidisciplinary expert teams.
• Broad expertise in credit, market, liquidity and operational risk within a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss banking regulation, FINMA expectations and Basel standards, ideally within a Category 3 bank.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, judgement and constructive-challenge skills, with interest in digitalisation, data and AI.

Nice to have

• Understanding of ICT, cyber and data-security risks.
• Experience with GRC platforms, RCSA, KRI and incident-management workflows.
• Expertise in quantitative or model risk, stress testing, data science, AI and automation for risk monitoring and reporting.
