Prototyping Design Engineer (UAV)

What you will do

• Design and modify mechanical solutions for UAV platforms and product prototypes.
• Rapidly validate concepts using 3D printing and CNC machining.
• Assemble, install, and evaluate designed components in a workshop environment.
• Participate in prototype testing and document results for data-driven decisions.
• Support product documentation and the transition from validated prototypes to mass production.
• Work with R&D and manufacturing teams to transfer concepts into formal development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a design engineer, mechanical engineer, or in a similar role.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, or CATIA V5.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturing, including 3D printing and CNC machining.
• Experience designing mechanical assemblies, enclosures, mounting systems, or structural components.
• Ability to work both at a workstation and in a workshop and quickly turn concepts into functional prototypes.

Nice to have

• Experience in UAV, robotics, aerospace, or defense industries.
• Understanding of UAV systems and integration challenges.
• Basic electronics knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping tools, 3D printers, or machining equipment.
