Head of Blockchain Security

Location: New York City, United States; onsite at the office at least 4 days per week

Salary: $260,000–$275,000 annual base salary, plus discretionary annual target bonus, performance incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own and elevate the security posture of blockchain infrastructure, custody systems, and smart contract protocols.
• Lead architectural reviews and security audits of Solidity, Rust, and Move smart contracts, including oversight of external audits.
• Advise protocol founders, engineering leads, and executives through prioritized technical risk reports and actionable recommendations.
• Build blockchain monitoring, alerting, and automated detection systems across major ecosystems.
• Design emergency exit workflows and facilitate cross-industry incident response tabletop exercises.
• Assess institutional custody systems, treasury controls, vendor infrastructure, and scalable security frameworks.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years focused on blockchain and smart contract security.
• Hands-on experience assessing smart contracts written in Solidity, Rust, and/or Move.
• Strong background in C/C++, Linux, cloud-native architectures, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with penetration testing, application security, offensive security, design reviews, threat modeling, OWASP Top 10, and SANS CWE 25.
• Deep expertise in applied cryptography, PKI, encryption, and network fundamentals including IP, DNS, HTTP, and SSL/TLS.
• Working knowledge of institutional custody infrastructure and DeFi protocols across Ethereum, Solana, Stacks, and Sui.

Nice to have

• OSCP, OSWE, OSCE, or related offensive security certification.
• Public security research, published vulnerability papers, or presentations at major industry conferences.
