Senior Scientist, Analytical R&D (Analytical Chemistry)

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, validate, transfer, and continuously improve analytical methods for complex materials, mixtures, formulations, and high-purity products.
• Design analytical experiments, interpret data, evaluate method performance, and communicate conclusions through technical reports, presentations, and customer discussions.
• Establish method-performance characteristics including detection limits, accuracy, precision, stability, robustness, and measurement-system capability.
• Qualify, maintain, and troubleshoot ICP-MS, ICP-OES, ion chromatography, HPLC, and FTIR instrumentation.
• Prepare SOPs, work instructions, validation documentation, qualification records, technical reports, and measurement-system analyses.
• Provide technical guidance and training while collaborating with global R&D, manufacturing, quality, engineering, external laboratories, and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of relevant analytical, R&D, product-development, or comparable laboratory experience.
• Experience developing, validating, or improving analytical methods for complex materials, mixtures, formulations, or high-purity products.
• Working knowledge of relevant analytical techniques such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, ion chromatography, HPLC, or FTIR, plus statistical analysis, measurement-system analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective-action principles.
• Ability to work safely with hazardous materials in laboratory and cleanroom environments and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Professional proficiency in English is required. The role is based in Ansan-si, South Korea, requires approximately 10%–20% travel including international travel, and does not provide immigration-related sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with trace-metals analysis, high-purity chemical analysis, or complex formulation characterization.
• Experience qualifying analytical instrumentation or transferring methods between laboratories or global sites.
• Knowledge of semiconductor materials, specialty chemicals, high-purity manufacturing, or contamination control.
• Experience supporting new-product introduction and working with manufacturing, quality, commercial teams, external laboratories, or customers.
• Professional proficiency in Korean and English.
