Principal Frontend Engineer, AI

Location: Office in Carrollton, Texas, United States

Salary: $110,000–$170,000 per year, with potential bonus and stock-based incentives.

What you will do

• Design and build the frontend architecture for an AI-powered developer platform using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Build a real-time Collaborative Canvas where engineers, product managers, and AI agents co-author user stories, PRDs, and architecture diagrams.
• Implement generative UI capabilities that dynamically render interactive charts, forms, and checklists based on AI context.
• Create visualizations for agent decisions, source tracing, reasoning graphs, dependency graphs, and architecture diagrams.
• Define API contracts with backend engineers using GraphQL, streaming JSON, and Server-Sent Events.
• Own frontend DevOps, testing strategy, architectural standards, and AI-native design patterns across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, HCI, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience building complex, data-heavy single-page applications with deep expertise in React, TypeScript, React internals, hooks, context, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Next.js App Router, Server Components, streaming, and progressive UI rendering.
• Hands-on experience building multi-user real-time applications with WebSockets, SSE, Yjs, Automerge, Liveblocks, or similar technologies, including state synchronization and conflict resolution.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock into frontend applications and building streaming interfaces for unstructured data.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as D3, Recharts, React Flow, or Mermaid.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Vercel AI SDK, LangChain, or similar agentic-state frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise design systems using Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, or Shadcn.
• Backend fluency with Node or Edge Functions and frontend-for-backend patterns.
• Knowledge of abstract syntax trees for browser-based code analysis and manipulation.
• FinTech or mortgage-domain experience, including familiarity with SOX or GLBA constraints.
