Head of Risk Operations (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, and execution of Risk Operations across acquiring, issuing, and credit risk.
• Lead and develop a globally distributed team responsible for onboarding, periodic reviews, and in-life customer behavior.
• Define team location and resourcing strategy to support 24/7 coverage, customer experience, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Establish scalable operating rhythms, OKRs, data-driven performance management, and consistent documentation.
• Improve procedures, playbooks, and control frameworks in partnership with 2LOD, Risk Product, and Engineering.
• Lead AI transformation across the Risk Operations function.

Requirements

• Senior leadership experience in large-scale, multi-jurisdiction operations within regulated financial services, payments, or fintech.
• Experience scaling Risk Operations across at least two of Payments, Issuing, and Credit in multiple geographies.
• Background in Fraud Operations and account-takeover risk controls.
• Strong commercial, analytical, and operational judgment, including unit economics, scalability, and return-on-investment analysis.
• Experience driving cross-functional outcomes across Operations, Product, and Risk without direct reporting-line authority.
• Experience with automation or AI-led transformation, big data and analytics, including SQL, DBX, and BI tooling.

• Experience with cross-border payments and multi-entity, multi-licence environments.
• Experience across Payments, Issuing, and Credit Risk.
• Experience with highly technical, API-first products.
• Exposure to IPO readiness or public-company control environments.
• Top-tier consulting or operator-investor experience.
