Field Supervisor (Education)

Location: Texarkana, Texas; field travel and work beyond normal office hours required

Compensation: $428.57 per assigned clinical teacher for the term

What you will do

• Conduct formal and informal observations of clinical teachers in assigned field placements.
• Maintain professional communication with clinical teachers and cooperating teachers throughout the term.
• Monitor instructional growth, professional competency development, and overall progress.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback after observations.
• Complete observation records, supervisory documentation, and final evaluation ratings by program deadlines.
• Facilitate support plans and resolve placement concerns with the program coordinator and field placement office.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree in education or a related field is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Valid Texas Standard Educator Certificate in the relevant certificate category, class, and grade band.
• At least three years of successful certified classroom teaching experience in a PK-12 setting.
• Current knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state pedagogical standards.
• Completion of, or willingness to complete, TEA-approved Field Supervisor Training and state-calibrated observation training before student assignment; travel and work beyond normal office hours are required.

• Part-time appointment on a per-semester basis, with openings for fall 2026, spring 2027, and/or summer 2027.
• Appointment is made from a department pool as field supervision needs arise.
• Work requires confidentiality and professional collaboration with education program staff and school personnel.
• Field supervisors cannot supervise candidates at schools where they are currently employed or serve as the candidate’s official mentor or cooperating teacher.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation.
