TL;DR
Solutions Engineer (API): Scoping API and web app integrations, reviewing implementation statements of work, and supporting customer implementations with an accent on technical feasibility, API expertise, and clear client communication. Focus on translating customer integration requirements into platform solutions, coordinating commitments across Sales, Implementation, Engineering, and Support, and resolving complex API-related support issues.

What you will do

  • Assess technical fit and scope API and web app opportunities early in the sales process.
  • Review statements of work for API and web app implementation scopes.
  • Support API and web app customer implementations.
  • Resolve escalated API-related Zendesk tickets and provide technical context to Support.
  • Support upselling and solutioning conversations with existing API customers.
  • Coordinate API-related commitments across Sales, Implementation, Engineering, and Support.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or in a similar pre-sales role in B2B SaaS.
  • Working familiarity with APIs and integrations, including the ability to scope integration requirements and communicate with technical stakeholders.
  • Experience scoping or reviewing client statements of work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence in customer-facing work.
  • Ability to operate independently in an evolving role and bring structure without established precedent.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with clients, Sales, and Engineering.
