Group Lead, IT - Data Engineering DataOps

Location: Bengaluru, India — Brookfield GCC; onsite role

What you will do

• Own the DataOps strategy and operational roadmap for the group, covering pipeline reliability, monitoring, incident management, and continuous delivery.
• Lead data engineering resources across cross-functional teams through the Build, Run, and Support lifecycle.
• Establish standards for SLAs, SLOs, alerting, data quality checks, observability, and operational transparency.
• Lead incident response, escalation paths, post-mortems, and systemic remediation to reduce recurring pipeline failures and improve MTTR.
• Drive CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, rollback, code reviews, and operational improvements across the cloud analytics platform.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and technical training while collaborating with product owners, data consumers, platform, cloud infrastructure, and security teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 6+ years of data engineering experience, including data operations, platform reliability, DevOps, or DataOps, and enterprise production environments.
• Experience leading and developing cross-functional data engineering teams and managing delivery in fast-paced environments.
• Strong Python, expert SQL, automated data testing, CI/CD, data warehousing, cloud infrastructure, and cost optimization experience.
• Experience with Azure, Snowflake or BigQuery, Airflow, Azure Data Factory or Prefect, Datadog or Azure Monitor, and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, root-cause resolution, Agile, and Kanban skills.
