Senior Medical Writer - Medical Communications (Oncology)

Location: Remote in the US, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, or Toronto; ideally East Coast based

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year, depending on experience and location

What you will do

• Research, write, and revise original scientific content for oncology-focused medical communications projects.
• Develop manuscripts, slide decks, and other materials for healthcare professional audiences.
• Ensure scientific accuracy through editing, referencing, and review of complex data.
• Manage projects from brief through delivery while coordinating with clients, authors, colleagues, and external experts.
• Contribute to project specifications, costings, schedules, account development, and delivery within budget.
• Brief and mentor colleagues, freelancers, and new writers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences; a PharmD or PhD is highly preferred.
• At least 2 years of medical writing experience, ideally in a medical communications agency.
• Essential experience developing scientific content for oncology-focused accounts, preferably publications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet research, and PubMed searches.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to work remotely from the listed US or Canadian locations, with an East Coast preference.
