What you will do

• Assess the effectiveness, implementation, and operational behavior of DOE security and privacy controls.
• Analyze control deficiencies, determine mission impact and risk severity, and recommend remediation strategies.
• Prepare assessment reports, risk evaluations, technical recommendations, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Reassess remediated controls and evaluate system-specific and inherited controls through continuous monitoring.
• Apply modeling, simulation, statistical analysis, engineering methods, and operational mathematics to complex cybersecurity challenges.
• Support enterprise cyber strategy, policy development, modernization efforts, and decision-support system implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent professional experience.
• 8–10 years of experience in cybersecurity, cyber operations, cyber risk analysis, modeling and simulation, or related technical fields.
• Expertise in one or more specialized domains, such as cyber risk analysis, cyber forensics, reverse engineering, or cyber hunt operations.
• Advanced proficiency in mathematics, statistical analysis, operational modeling, engineering methods, or scientific computing.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, technical reporting, and cybersecurity strategy or policy development.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
